Leash up your dog and unleash fun at the Fast & Furriest 5K and Fun Run at Greenway Farms, benefiting the Humane Educational Society.
The event will feature a 5K Trail Race, a 1-mile fun run/walk, and a pet-friendly vendor village, along with complimentary coffee, donuts, and lunch!
Run solo, bring your pup, or "rent" an HES adoptable Trail Buddy to go on a walk with you!

Important Race Day Instructions

EARLY CHECK-IN: You will have the opportunity to check-in and get your race bag, including your t-shirt and numbered bib, the day before the event on Saturday, March 21st. Come to the Humane Educational Society between 2pm-5pm for early check-in, and skip the line on race day!
DAY-OF: You are welcome to arrive at 9am to Greenway Farms to enjoy the vendor village and fuel up with complimentary coffee, donuts and bananas. If you have NOT picked up your race bag the day before at early check-in, head to the CHECK IN tents to let us know you're here and get your race bag. The 5K race will begin at 10:00am. The 1-Mile will begin at 10:10. Remember to bring your donations from our Amazon Wishlist to the HES tent in the vendor village to help support our foster program! Anyone who brings a donation from our Wishlist will be entered in a raffle to win a Sockwell Socks "sock drawer makeover" - a $150 value! View our Wishlist by clicking HERE.
PARKING: Parking at Greenway is limited, so we recommend carpooling if you can! There are two available lots - one across from the dog park, and one next to the conference center. For additional parking, please follow parking director's guidance to park around the green space. Please be mindful to not block anyone in!
TRAIL BUDDY CHECK OUT: HES dogs will be available to "rent" for 1-mile walkers ONLY, for a $25 one-time donation that will go directly to the shelter. To rent a Trail Buddy, please head to the trail buddy check-in line at the CHECK IN tent first, regardless if you have picked up your race packet early. You will then be directed to go pick up your dog. Trail Buddy dogs will be handed out on a first come, first served basis. Please note, HES will not have enough Trail Buddy dogs to accommodate everyone that wants one, but we will do our best! You must be at least 18 years old to check out a Trail Buddy.
RACE DAY RULES:
- Keep all dogs on a short leash and at least 6 feet away from other dogs. There will be a lot of people and pups around, and sometimes even the friendliest dogs can get overwhelmed. Please be mindful of others, as well as the HES shelter dogs. Anyone with unleashed or aggressive dogs may be asked to leave. Let's make this day enjoyable for everyone, both two-legged and four!
- Please pick up after your dog! This is a public space, so please be respectful to those around you and this beautiful outdoor park.
- No alcohol. Smoking is prohibited, except in designated areas.
