
Pet food is available for pickup at the shelter during regular business hours, Tuesday through Sunday. A valid Tennessee driver’s license must be presented at the time of pickup to qualify for pet food assistance. For questions regarding our Pet Food Pantry, please contact our Customer Service Department by text at 423-501-7775. A member of our team will respond as soon as possible.

Making a Pet Food Donation

We accept in-date pet food, collars, leashes, harnesses

Food must be in date and not expiring within 3 months. Food bags CAN be opened, but food must be in original container/packaging.​

Collars, harnesses, leashes, and toys must not have tears, foul smells, fraying, or missing pieces.

Donations are accepted during shelter business hours

Getting Pet Food Assistance
By using the Pet Food Pantry, you are agreeing to the following:

You agree not to hold Humane Educational Society, its staff, or volunteers liable in the unfortunate event sickness occurs.

You understand the potential risks of feeding your pet new food.

We will consider requests for certain brand foods, but cannot guarantee what you will receive.

All pets must be companion animals, well cared for, not chained, or left outside.

We offer temporary pet food assistance. We are not a permanent source of pet food.

​You must have a valid license or state issued ID and live in HES jurisdiction to participate (Hamilton County, outside Chattanooga or Red Bank city limits).
