Humane Educational Society is dedicated to protecting the animals and residents of Hamilton County, Tennessee.

Our animal services unit is contracted to serve the following areas: Unincorporated Hamilton County, Soddy Daisy, Collegedale, and Walden.

Reporting an Issue
To report domestic animal neglect, abuse, running at large, or any other domestic animal issue in our service areas listed above, please do not hesitate to call (423) 624-5302 ext 232 with as much detailed information possible including your name and address.
Emergencies
An emergency is defined as a stray injured or sick domestic animal or a situation involving a dog or cat bite. If your issue is an emergency, please call immediately instead of sending an email. Officers are on-call 24/7 for emergencies only in our service areas. If a bite has occurred, report the bite to the Health Department at (423) 209-8110.
Wildlife & Livestock
For issues involving livestock (horses, goats, chickens, cows, etc.) please contact the Hamilton County Sheriff's Department.

For issues involving wildlife, contact Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency or local organizations such as TruTech, Chattanooga Nature Center, or Chattanooga Zoo.
Pet Licensing
Pets must be registered with the county every year. Provide proof of rabies vaccination and include a $5 payment. Please include a self-stamped envelope for licenses needing to be mailed.
