About the event
On Saturday, May 22nd at 10:00 am the Humane Educational Society is hosting our first Paddling for Paws event to raise money for HES and bring awareness to the foster program! Check in begins at 9:00 (Tickets must be bought online before event) . The event takes place at the Waconda Bay Boat Ramp. Paddlers will partake in a 2.5 mile paddle around Harrison Bay. Course includes three waypoints where paddlers will receive bracelets. At the end of the course, they will turn them in for raffle tickets and have the chance to win prizes. Paddlers must bring their own kayak, canoe, or paddle board to participate. Entry fee is $40 a person and includes a t-shirt and goodie bag. Â Order extra t-shirts here.Â
Each paddler will be assigned a shelter foster animal as their "mascot". Parking will be limited so please mark how many vehicles you will be bringing and amount of people per vehicle on the registration. Â You will be able to choose from several start times. We are doing 10 people per group. Â If the weather is not agreeable, we will reschedule to June 5th at the same time. Please do not bring pets as there is a safety hazard. Life jackets required.
Directions to Boat Ramp : This launch is located off of TN Hwy. 58 at the intersection of Bayshore Dr. and Waconda Point Rd. Directions: Go north on TN Hwy. 58. Turn left at Harrison Elementary School onto Tyner Lane, which becomes Bayshore Dr. TWRA boat launch is on the left.
