We regret to announce that A Christmas Tail 5K and Mutt Strut is canceled due to inclement weather and concern for runner and animal safety. A Christmas Tail VIP Brunch will still take place at the Tap House. Guests are invited to the Tap House to pick up their event shirt. Tap house will open early at 9:30 for those who want to purchase a keepsake pint glass, drink or food. If you are not able to join us at the Tap House please email your name shirt size(s) and the best address for your event shirt to be shipped to firstname.lastname@example.org. We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for making a difference for homeless animals at the Humane Educational Society!

A Christmas Tail 5k is an out-and-back course starting at 1885 Grill in St. Elmo, heads across Broad Street, and onto the River Walk, before turning back. This is a PR course: flat, fast, and cooler temperatures. For beginner runners this will be a great course to run your first 5k. There will be an aid station at the 1 mile and 2 mile mark with fun and energetic volunteers. New to 2018 will be a 3 person team competition, with runners also being eligible for individual awards.
VIP Brunch! Only 24 seats are available for the brunch catered by Taconooga. Guests will enjoy breakfast burritos, handmade Mexican chorizo, eggs, bacon, pico de gallo, salsas, tomatoes, onions, cheese, beans, fruit aquas frescas- passion fruit and mango all made from scratch. Tap house will provide a beermosa for each guest 21 and over as well. All VIP will recieve a complimentary event pint glass. Brunch will be served following the 5K and Mutt Strut Saturday, December 8th at 11 a.m.
Make sure to stop by the St. Elmo Deli Winter Village during A Christmas Tail and enjoy a s'more bar, photos with Santa, kids crafts, pet holiday costume contest, warm drinks, holiday cheer by the fire and more! Race winners get a free drink and brownie with food purchase and a portion of all food sales benefit homeless animals at HES! St. Elmo Deli will open early with breakfast options as well so make sure to come hungry!
Angela Williams Photography will be on-site for pet photos, family photos and runner photos with Santa from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Angela has had her work published in Fido Magazine, American Dog Magazine and First for Women Magazine, and she has been a finalist in Best of the Best and featured on The Ellen Show. Photos with Santa will cost $25, with 20 percent of sales donated to help homeless animals at HES.
All proceeds from this event benefit the Humane Educational Society of Chattanooga.
