Lonely Hearts

These Lonely Hearts are in danger of becoming too used to kennel life. They desperately need a Forever Home!

Amadeus

For additional information, click HERE!

Double your pleasure, double your fun! Please meet Amadeus, who is the older, more bashful brother in a bonded pair. He and his sibling, Archimedes, are both housetrained and walk very well on leash together. They love car rides (Amadeus prefers to ride in the floor, while his brother likes the back seat), and have been to numerous events due to their pleasant personalities. They have become playgroup rock stars, which means they help introduce new dogs to the group and make them feel comfortable in a multi-dog setting. Amadeus has made tremendous progress since coming to HES – upon arrival, this boy was very timid and did not want to leave his kennel. He now enjoys long walks and being out and about – he is well mannered in any situation and easy to be around. He is also game for running, playing, and rolling in the grass, smiling all the while. Still, he takes comfort from being close to his brother and Archimedes is proud to look after him. Amadeus is gentle and affectionate with people. While he may give you that shy sideways glance at first, he is a delightful cuddle-bug. Amadeus and Archimedes are sweet guys who just want to stay together and bring sunshine to some lucky person’s home. How can you resist the chance to have a double helping of love in your life?

Sponsorship available for 2nd adoption if adopted together with Archimedes.

Double your pleasure, double your fun! Please meet Archimedes, who is the younger, more confident brother in a bonded pair. He and his sibling, Amadeus, are both housetrained and walk very well on leash together. They love car rides (Archimedes prefers to ride in the back seat, while his brother likes the floor), and have been to numerous events due to their pleasant personalities. They have become playgroup rock stars, which means they help introduce new dogs to the group and make them feel comfortable in a multi-dog setting. Archimedes is even more of a social butterfly now than when he first came to HES. He enjoys long walks and being out and about – he is well-mannered in any situation and easy to be around. He is also game for running, playing, and rolling in the grass, smiling all the while. Still, he is never far from Amadeus and is proud to look after his brother. Archimedes is gentle and affectionate with people. A bit of a clown with his cute strut, he loves to lean in and snuggle as well. Archimedes and Amadeus are sweet guys who just want to stay together and bring sunshine to some lucky person’s home. How can you resist the chance to have a double helping of love in your life?

EARL

For additional information, click HERE!

My name is Earl (or Earlie) and I'm hoping we can be family! I'm currently in foster care because I am extremely shy with new people. I'm learning to trust humans and a new life with me is going to take love, patience and time. The shelter staff believe I lived outside and didn't receive much love from the humans who owned me. The loving shelter staff, volunteers and my foster mom are making up for the all the love I was missing. I enjoy being petted on the head, and if I feel safe, you can pet my body and belly! I'm the perfect size and I love treats! I'm really smart and am learning commands. Right now, I'm a pro when it comes to sitting.. for treats of course! I LOVE TOYS and playing with dogs my size or smaller. Bigger dogs take some time for me to get used to. I've been known to race around my foster's back yard flipping a toy in the air. She say's I'm fun to watch! I adore walks AND even like hiking! I'm looking for someone with lots of patience who is willing to help me learn to be part of a family and a forever companion! I come to work most days with my foster mom who works at the shelter. Ask for me at the front desk or email my foster mom to set up a meeting (volunteer@heschatt.org). Adopting me will require several visits so that I can get to know you before I would go home with you.

Ella is a shiny black beauty. She loves to go on walks and explore. We are working on leash manners as she is a strong girl and tends to get excited. Ella loves to play and loves toys. She can sometimes play rough, so she would probably be better for older children. Ella has learned a few tricks and loves showing them off!! She absolutely loves treats, so she is a willing and eager student. Ella wants all the attention, so needs to be your one and only dog. Ella is very sweet and loving and just needs a family to shower with her affection.

EMMA

Emma is a playful and spunky 3-year-old Retriever mix. While she’s not all that into toys, she sure does love to romp and play with her people. Emma also likes going for long, leashed walks and will make a good companion for an active person who wants a doggy bff. She may be housebroken and she is most definitely crate trained! She actually enjoys going in her create!! She is a very sweet and endearing pupper As always, if you already have some canine pals at home, a meet-and-greet is required to make sure everyone gets along. This gal would do best in a cat free home.

My name is Joany and I came in to HES with my sister Luna and my brother Early. We were all pretty skittish and both Luna and I had 9 puppies between us! We are really good moms and took care of our babies together...it really was a family affair! All of our puppies have been adopted and are now in wonderful forever homes! Now it's our turn to find homes. I'm very shy with new people, but once I get to know you, I'm a lover!! I've had a rough start but know that once I find my forever family, everything will be all right. I'm the perfect size, I walk well on a leash, love treats and to be pet and kissed. I'm looking for someone with lots of patience as I learn to be your best forever companion. Right now, I'm spending time in the 2nd floor offices because the kennel is a bit scary. Ask for me at the front desk to meet me!! I can't wait!!

kitkat

For additional information, click HERE!

Kitkat is a bit shy in new environments. So when you take her home, just give her time to acclimate. She's SO worth it! Kitkat is super calm, sweet as can be, does great around other cats and she is A #1 Biscuit Maker!! Kitkat is just the sweetest cat you could ever want. She would be an excellent kitty companion. I've seen her walk right up to another female cat and groom her entire head. Check out her video, she had just met Spazzy with her. She loves other felines. We also have more video of Kitkat being super sweet and enjoying people attention. She's great with kittens too!!

lightning

For additional information, click HERE!

Lightning is a 3 ½ year old lab mix. The boy is super bouncy in his kennel, very eager to get out! Once outside he is very calm, just exploring all the new scents and sounds. Lightening gets along with other dogs and is easy to walk. We’ve heard he’s not a fan of cats, and he can be slow to warm up to unfamiliar men. Lightning seems to really enjoy the ladies AND the kiddos!

otis

For additional information, click HERE!

Otis is an active and very affectionate dog. He thoroughly enjoys attention and greets with a spine-level wag and face greeting, if close enough. He enjoys playing with other social, playful, tolerant rough and rowdy dogs. Likes rawhides and will carry one around. He will race off to explore but responds to being called with a loose and wiggly approach.

pumpkin

For additional information, click HERE!

Pumpkin's foster mom says: Pumpkin is an affectionate, sweet and calm cat. He has an interesting look about him, with his tapered face, big ears, and it always looks like he's smiling at you. If you want a snuggler, Pumpkin is the purrrfect cat for you. He's also pleasantly independent and not overly needy. And you won't need a night light - cause Pumpkin's green eyes can light up a room!! They're spectacular. Pumpkin loves watching the world. He's interesting, and quirky in just the right manner. Not shy, Pumpkin is cautious. He seems to think and contemplate before acting. He wants to be sure he's in a safe environment and when he's ready, which doesn't take long, he'll investigate the whole house. He may take his time doing it, but he'll enjoy every moment. Pumpkin gets along with other cats. But you MUST introduce him slowly. New people, environment and siblings all at once are overwhelming. Pumpkin has long gangly legs and when he has a cat moment and runs, those legs seem to go in every direction. He uses the litter box perfectly and he's not a dominate male. I'm not sure how he would be with a dog. My guess is if it's a sweet, calm dog and you properly introduce, he wouldn't mind. The "worse" I've ever seen out of him is very minor grrring and hissing. He's never lashed out at my sassy girl cat, who may deserve it sometimes :) Pumpkin was adopted as a kitten and recently returned. He may have had a stressful environment as he's had some hair loss. Also, he may have had a bad reaction to a flea collar or it was on too tight. Because Pumpkin has a ring of hair loss around his neck. Pumpkin is just a sweet boy, looking for a sweet forever home, indoors only. If interested in having pumpkin every day of your life, please contact HES to arrange for a home visit.

sean

The diamond known as Sean is being polished and soon will be sparkling. His perfect setting just might be in your home. Sean is a biggish 40+ pound Chinese Shar-pei mix without bunches of wrinkles. Almost three years old, he is a handsome strawberry blonde guy. His Shar-pei blood shows up in his wrinkled brow making him look very worried. The shape of his back legs, color of his tongue, ears, fur and skin are all Shar-pei, too. Background: Since Sean came to us as a stray, we don't know the experiences he had in the past that have shaped his personality. We just know that he is a nice fellow - a bit wary of new people and excitable, but very deserving of love and who will give you love back in spades. He has been with us since July 2017, and just in early June 2018 went to a foster home for a few months. Training: With his foster mom, he is taking obedience class and is learning to walk well on leash, Sit, Down, Stay, Leave it, and Here (Come). He is learning crate training and being house broken. Sean is very treat motivated, making him easy to train. More training comes with his adoption so you can both speak the same language. Loves: In his foster home, Sean loves toys, especially plush squeaky toys that he does not even try to destroy, balls and Nylabones. He loves a soft cushy bed and a large crate. With most other dogs, he seems casually friendly and not overly excited. At the shelter, he joined big dog play groups now and then. He startles other dogs because he is vocal when he plays. He is strong and, like most dogs, needs regular exercise to help keep him calm and happy. Sean is a fun and funny dog if you have a kind heart and firm hand.
